News The GladRags Project Rainbows & Smiley Faces Is it just me or do ‘smiley faces’ always make you smile? Even the newly created emoji with a facemask on is strangely cheering! Thus, finding this submission, awash with cute faces, really made my day! This was sent in by Nicky at Surrey Choices. I have to say Surrey Choices has come up with some ‘choice work’ over the past weeks, and I just had to show you the banner picture – a colourful rainbow from Joanne. I have yet more work from Surrey Choices to share with you next week. Did anyone have a go at slashing fabric as I suggested last week? I found this fabulous little project on the internet and wrote to the ladies who posted it, asking if I could share it. So here you are, an example of how really effective it can be cutting up old fabric, piling it up, stitching and recutting! The pictures here show you the progression and the finished design, but if you would like to have a go yourself with the full instructions, they are here on Carey and Meri’s website here. These ladies share their ideas and instructions so generously – do take a look at their site as they have shared instructions for lots of other projects - including facemask instructions! We do hope you will keep the ideas coming everyone – we’d love to see more work from younger members of the community now school is officially out for the summer too! Don’t forget to send us good quality pictures, your name and perhaps a bit about your reasons for choosing your design? Look forward to this week’s postbag and thank you all for taking part.
