What's On Courses & Workshops Inspiration Through Nature: Poetry & Illustration for Kids Join author Lucy Reynolds and illustrator Jenna Herman for a day of nature-themed workshops in the magical setting of West Horsley Place! Jenna and Lucy will take children through a wonderful day of nature walks and creative workshops. Children will learn how to pause, notice, and focus, finding inspiration from the beauty of nature all around us. They will then learn techniques to help turn these ideas into poetry & illustrations. Jenna & Lucy aim to give young poets & illustrators a ‘Poetic Writing & Illustration Toolkit’ to use when working on their own creations in the future. Each child will go home from the workshop with a beautifully illustrated poem of their own, and the chance to exhibit their work at West Horsley Place if they wish! Your child does not need to feel particularly talented in writing or illustrating to attend this workshop, just enthusiastic about stories and nature! About Jenna & Lucy: Jenna and Lucy are a Writer/Illustrator duo who create lovely books and creative projects for little explorers. "We strongly believe that reading, art & creativity makes the world a better place..." Combining their backgrounds in poetry and fine art - along with our extensive experience in production, publishing and community projects - they launched Doodles & Scribbles in 2017 to create exciting creative projects and beautiful children’s books. They have created and published three successful titles, and most recently published a new paperback edition of their book We Are Family to wonderful reviews. Everything they do is designed to inspire children and families through creativity and the natural world. Important Info: Ticket cost: £35 Parents/Guardians drop off at 9.30am and pick up at 3.30pm. The group will be no larger than 16 children, making for a very special immersive experience and lots of attention for every child. Please ensure your child us dressed appropriately for the weather (jumper, outdoor shoes, sun screen) and a day of exploring in nature, has a bottle for water, has a packed lunch.
