visitors in the house

Our Open Days are our way of making our heritage and stories as accessible as possible. Held at the weekend and school holidays, with affordable ticket prices and free entry for young people under 16.

Come and explore the Manor House and walled gardens. The most prestigious rooms in the house will be open for you to wander through on a free-flow route. There will be expert stewards in each room sharing the remarkable stories of West Horsley Place including Guy Fawkes' time as a footmen here, how Walter Raleigh's head ended up under our stairs, why Elizabeth I had a theatre built in our gardens, how two of our owners ended up being executed and much more.

Refreshments will be available on the day at our pop-up cafe and guests are welcome to bring a picnic into the walled gardens as long as they take all rubbish away with them.

Open Day ticket holders can now add to the fun of their day at West Horsley Place by booking a Family Art Workshop session
