Join Mary on her journey to discovering The Secret Garden in this brand new, family-friendly, dance adaptation of the best-selling novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. 

Performed by an accomplished cast of dancers and musicians, the iconic story is brought to life like never before, in this high-quality, one-hour ballet.  With a brand-new score and original choreography, The Secret Garden offers an enchanting, unforgettable experience for adults and children alike. 

New Creations Collective is a Kent-based arts company, using classical and contemporary artforms to tell timeless, hope-filled stories. The Secret Garden will be performed in our Crinkle-Crankle Garden, the perfect setting for this magical tale. 

Important Information

The walled gardens will be open from 12.30pm, guests are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the orchard or formal gardens, before moving to the performance area in the Crinkle-Crankle Garden from 1.45pm. There will also be refreshments available to purchase on site. Picnic chairs and tables and umbrellas may be used during the picnic period, but may not be used in the performance area. We ask that all guest leave the site 30 minutes after the performance ends. Only assistance dogs allowed inside the walled gardens. 

The Secret Garden will be performed in the Crinkle-Crankle Garden. The Crinkle-Crankle Garden will open at 1.45pm.

All seating during the performance is to be on the grass: blankets, cushions or low back chairs only allowed in the Crinkle-Crankle Garden. Umbrellas are not allowed in the Crinkle-Crankle Garden. Guests should dress sensibly for any weather conditions and bring a torch. 

Weather Policy

Please note: The production will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather conditions (where it is deemed to be unsafe for the production to continue).

We ask that everyone comes prepared for all weather conditions. Refunds will only be offered if a show is cancelled.

Performances of The Secret Garden will only be cancelled as a last resort if the weather means it’s unsafe for the performers. This decision will be taken as soon as possible, but often only 30 to 45 minutes before the start of the show as we’ll do everything possible to ensure the performance goes ahead.

Access Information

 West Horsley Place has a gravel carriage sweep. Wheelchair users should be dropped off here for close access to the walled gardens or a disables parking space can be booked by contacting us at [email protected]

Access through the gardens is step free and to the lavatories is step free. Please advise West Horsley Place if you are a wheelchair user before the event date. A raised area of the garden has been reserved for wheelchair users to ensure a good view of the stage. 

Our car park is a 3 minute walk from the manor house and gardens. Guests who have restricted mobility may be dropped off in front of the manor house. 

As the performance takes place in the garden, ground conditions are uneven. 

Cancellation Policy: If the event is postponed due to COVID-19 guest will be refunded or offered an alternative date.
