West Horsley Place is delighted to host the 2019 West Horsley Village Fete. We look forward to welcoming our local community for a day of fun for all the family with music, food and amazing activities.

The last Fete, held in 2017, was a great success with a beautifully presented pop up tea tent, flower, arts and craft stalls, face painting, ferrets, a dog agility course, a 5K fun run, local crafts, local business stalls including Silent Pool Gin and a barbeque. We are sure that this year will be even more fun-filled and spectacular.

West Horsley Place Fete Activities 12-4pm

Free access to the manor house

As part of Heritage Open Days the manor house will be open from 12-4pm for our local community. Access will be by a stewarded route through the formal rooms of the house. Learn about the many illustrious people associated with West Horsley Place including Elizabeth I, Henry VIII, Guy Fawkes and Sir Walter Raleigh. Our room stewards are very knowledgeable and are on hand to share some of our remarkable stories and answer your questions.

Pre-booking is not required, but we expect entrance to the manor house to be popular so there may be a short wait at the front door. Come to the entrance hall to find out more about the mission of the Mary Roxburghe Trust.

Explore our 5 acres of walled gardens. Garden stewards will be on hand to tell you more about the history of this remarkable place. Please note that only assistance dogs can be admitted to the gardens.

West Horsley Place Community Art Workshop

Get creative in the West Horsley Place Arts Workshop lead by local artist Kellie Smitheman. Adults and children can join in creating a canvas of the manor house painted by our community, create a watercolour postcard or make a clay sculpture of an historic object from our collection. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

West Horsley Place Gazebo

Visit the West Horsley Place gazebo where you can find out more about our mission and buy Bamber Gascoigne’s history of the house, Christmas cards and presents.

We will also have a special garden table selling plants in hand-made terracotta pots by Christina Gascoigne, a range of home-grown plants, Victorian clay herb pots and vintage tiles inspired by the history of the garden. All proceeds will benefit our Walled Garden Appeal

Help us to restore and rejuvenate West Horsley Place for the local community to share and enjoy by donating today. Bamber and Christina’s generosity has helped us to carry out the most urgent repairs, but there is much more to do and every penny makes a difference.

We look forward to seeing you there!
