The Surrey Hills Christmas Fair will celebrate the best of Surrey arts, crafts and artisanal produce. We are delighted host and curate this event, which will take place across the Manor House and Place Farm Barn, and to welcome our exhibiting partners:

SURREY HILLS ENTERPRISES (EXHIBITING IN PLACE FARM BARN)

Surrey Hills Enterprises is a membership organisation for sustainable local businesses and artisan producers. Place Farm Barn and courtyard will host a variety of stalls including food and drink stuffs, skincare, jewellery, fashion and country crafts. You will also find refreshments and light bites in the courtyard. 

Wendy Varcoe MBE, Executive Director of Surrey Hills Enterprises said ‘ We are delighted to be working in partnership with West Horsley Place to showcase local Surrey Hills artisans. Visitors to the Christmas Fair will be able to meet the artisans and browse an array of stalls including Surrey Hills food, beer, gin, chocolate, skincare, jewellery, textiles, woodwork and ceramics. All have been awarded the Trade Mark Surrey Hills, a mark of local provenance, quality and sustainability’.


WEY CERAMICS (EXHIBITING IN THE STONE PARLOUR)

Members of Wey Ceramics will exhibit decorative, domestic and sculptural ceramics. 

"Members of the Wey Ceramics Society are looking forward to transforming the Stone Parlour into a shimmering treasure chest of ceramic sculpture and domestic ware.  It is a huge privilege to be one of the local groups invited to take part in the first Surrey Hills Christmas Fair, thereby helping to bring the magnificent building of West Horsley Place back to life."

ADAM AARONSON & FRIENDS (EXHIBITING IN THE STONE HALL)

This exciting show will be an exhibition curated by Liz Hauck, featuring glass by Adam Aaronson together with paintings by Liz Hauck, Tessa Pearson, Tinx Newton and other local artists together with ceramics by Ali Tomlin and Kayley Holderness.

Adam Aaronson commented  “We are all delighted at this fabulous opportunity to exhibit at West Horsley Place and everyone is busy with preparations. I think it will be an unmissable event so book your tickets early!”

SURREY GUILD OF CRAFTSMEN (EXHIBITING IN THE LIBRARY)

Surrey Guild of Craftsmen will exhibit exceptional work by craftsmen and designer- makers of contemporary and traditional applied arts including textiles, fashion, jewellery and more. 


"West Horsley Place is an ideal venue for Surrey Guild of Craftsmen members to showcase their work alongside other quality Surrey makers. We are so pleased to have been given the opportunity to exhibit in this first Christmas event and hope it will be the first of many to come"

GUILDFORD ART SOCIETY (EXHIBITING IN THE MORNING ROOM)

Guildford Art Society will exhibit original paintings, drawings and sculpture by its members. Founded in 1923 the society has over 200 members and exists to encourage the visual arts. 

“We first used the Morning Room at West Horsley Place when we held our annual Autumn Exhibition there in 2019. We were excited by the intimate scale of the room and the abundance of daylight. We are delighted to have been offered this space as part of the 2021 Surrey Hills Christmas Fair which we are participating in for the first time this year. The Fair is likely to create much interest and gives us the opportunity to show the work of the Guildford Art Society to a different public and so widen the awareness of who we are and what we do.”


THE ART SHED SURREY (EXHIBITING IN THE STONE KITCHEN)

A group of local artists and designer-makers formally based at the Medicine Garden in Cobham working in a variety of media including textiles, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking and precious metals will showcase their work in the Stone Kitchen. 

"The award winning Art Shed Surrey are excited to bring their diverse gallery collective to West Horsley Place. Original fine and applied art works in a range of media including painting, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, silver and gemstones."

As well as exploring all the wonderful exhibition areas you will be able to enjoy refreshments and light bites in Place Farm Courtyard including Tiger Lily Coffee, The Drinkery (serving mulled wine) and The Fillet & Bean (serving locally reared and grown hot food). All proceeds from ticket sales support our mission to repair and conserve West Horsley Place, which is currently on Historic England's Heritage At Risk register.
