Join Lizzy from Pippin & Gile to spend a day in the woods and rediscover your inner child on a bushcraft adventure.  A great family bonding day, you will all be stretched, learn new things and see the woodlands in a new light.

You will:

  • Learn to identify some of the animal tracks and sign we see around the estate.
  • Learn to identify a range of trees and plants as well as some uses for them.
  • Work in groups to build shelters out of natural materials. Volunteers will be required to test them out to see how much water they can keep out!
  • Learn how to use knives safely. Everyone will go home with a sculpture or tool you have created.

We finish off the day with a bang! Lighting fires using a range of methods including friction fire with a fire bow, ferro rods, batteries and wire wool and a fire piston.

Pippin & Gile pride themselves in making the natural world come to life in a friendly, informative and professional way. Whether that be through constructing a natural shelter to shield you from the elements, looking at how to use natural resources to collect and purify water. Being able to identify common trees and plants and knowing a little about their folklore and uses.
