Poppy seed heads, echinacea, sunflowers and thistles are just a few of the garden ornaments you could choose to make during this workshop.

Several techniques will be employed in making these decorative garden stakes, with a demonstration at the beginning of the workshop and an opportunity to make three items within the time.

During the second session, we will glaze your pieces in colours reflecting hues found in nature.  Glazing should render them frost resistant and ready to be planted in your gardens.

The steel stakes we provide will rust over time but this lends a more natural feel.

Shelley Bock

Shelley Bock is a fine artist specialising in ceramics and printmaking. Her work explores themes of fragility and transience in the natural world with intent to capture a lightness of touch reflecting this vulnerability. Each handmade piece is inspired by nature and sensitively created often with the use of delicate, white porcelain. Shelley enjoys the unpredictability of working with clay and printmaking and the element of risk.
