Come along to our informal screen-printing workshop with Jo Ellison, our very own Arts, Heritage and Learning Coordinator.

Screen printing is a simple technique which can be used to make bold and striking designs. We’ll start the workshop by exploring some of the designs and patterns in the Manor house and thinking about how they would translate into a screenprint, before creating your own designs. Whether it’s nature or bold shapes (or something else) that inspires you, Jo will help you translate your ideas into a striking design which you can display on your new tote bag.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of screen printing, creating your own design and printing it during the workshop. You will create your own stencil and print a single colour design onto a tote bag.

Jo Ellison

Before joining the team at West Horsley Place she was a community artist in London, encouraging creativity across a wide range of audiences. She has a firm belief that anyone can be creative and create beautiful artworks with a bit of guidance and encouragement. She studied art at London Metropolitan University where he fell in love with screen printing. Upon leaving university, she quickly learnt to screenprint in her kitchen at home, inviting friends to join and create their own designs too! Now you’ll often find her in the office planning one of our upcoming events but she still loves to pick up a pencil and paper whenever the opportunity arises.
