The Surrey Hills Christmas Fair celebrates the best of Surrey arts, crafts and artisanal produce. We are delighted host and curate this event, which will take place across the Manor House and Place Farm Barn, and to welcome our exhibiting partners:

Surrey Hills Enterprises (exhibiting in Place Farm Barn)

Surrey Hills Enterprises is a membership organisation for sustainable local businesses and artisan producers. Place Farm Barn and courtyard will host a variety of stalls including food and drink stuffs, skincare, jewellery, fashion and country crafts. You will also find refreshments and light bites in the courtyard. 

Wey Ceramics (exhibiting in the Stone Parlour)

Member of Wey Ceramics will exhibit decorative, domestic and sculptural ceramics. 

"Members of the Wey Ceramics Society are looking forward to transforming the Stone Parlour into a shimmering treasure chest of ceramic sculpture and domestic ware.  It is a huge privilege to be one of the local groups invited to take part in the first Surrey Hills Christmas Fair, thereby helping to bring the magnificent building of West Horsley Place back to life."

Adam Aaronson & Friends (exhibiting in the Stone Hall)

Leading glass artist Adam Aaronson will transform the Stone Hall with his own works alongside paintings and artworks by artists including Liz Hauck, Tessa Pearson and more.  

Surrey Guild of Craftsmen (exhibiting in the Library)

Surrey Guild of Craftsmen will exhibit exceptional work by craftsmen and designer- makers of contemporary and traditional applied arts including textiles, fashion, jewellery and more. 

"West Horsley Place is an ideal venue for Surrey Guild of Craftsmen members to showcase their work alongside other quality Surrey makers. We are so pleased to have been given the opportunity to exhibit in this first Christmas event and hope it will be the first of many to come."

Guildford Art Society (exhibiting in the Morning Room)

Guildford Art Society will exhibit original paintings, drawings and sculpture by its members. Founded in 1923 the society has over 200 members and exists to encourage the visual arts. 

The Art Shed Surrey (exhibiting in the Stone Kitchen)

A group of local artists and designer-makers formally based at the Medicine Garden in Cobham working in a variety of media including textiles, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking and precious metals will showcase their work in the Stone Kitchen. 

As well as exploring all the wonderful exhibition areas you will be able to enjoy and refreshments and light bites in Place Farm Courtyard. All proceeds from ticket sales support our mission to repair and conserve West Horsley Place, which is currently on Historic England's Heritage At Risk register. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

No physical tickets will be issued. Upon arrival at West Horsley Place please follow the directions of our car parking stewards. Ticket holders will need to check in at the arrival desk by Place Farm Barn. Please arrive during your entrance timeslot between 11am and 11.30am. Last entry for the afternoon session will be at 2.30pm. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after your entrance timeslot, we can’t guarantee you entry. Entry will be at the discretion of the property staff based on visitor numbers.

Young children and families are welcome. Under 5s go free and do not require a ticket. 

Tickets are limited and must be booked online in advance. 

Only assistance dogs are permitted inside the manor house and walled gardens. However, we have a 380 acre estate in which you are most welcome to take your well-behaved pooch for a walk. The walled gardens will not be open. 

Access

West Horsley Place has a gravel carriage sweep. Wheelchair users can pre-book a disabled parking space and can also be dropped off at the closest point to the manor house. Please advise us if you require a disabled parking space or any additional support during your visit by contacting us at [email protected]

The Christmas Fair takes place on the ground floor only and is accessible for wheel chair users, however the flagstones can be uneven. Both the manor house and Place Farm Barn have accessible toilets. 

We expect this event to be bustling and busy, we will provide a quiet room for anyone who needs it. Please let a member of our staff or volunteer team know. 

Our car park is a 3 minute walk from the manor house and gardens. Guests who have restricted mobility may be dropped off in front of the manor house. 

Free tickets for carers are available, these can only be booked in combination with a ticket holder with access requirements. 

Covid-safety

The health and safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers remains our top priority. We ask that everyone visiting West Horsley Place please familiarise themselves with the latest government advice and follow these measures:

  • Wash hands more frequently for at least 20 seconds.
  • Please follow guidance from West Horsley Place staff and volunteer stewards.
  • Wearing of masks and social-distancing may be required inside (dependent on government guidelines)

Please note: If you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms associated with Coronavirus (Covid-19) you will not be permitted entry to West Horsley Place.
