Willow Basket Weaving

Join Lorraine Ellery Matthews for a full-day Willow Basket Workshop suitable for beginners and learn to weave your very own round basket to take home.

This is a practical workshop, you will learn about Willow, how to prepare and the traditional basket weaving techniques used to make your basket including 'randing' and a 'three-rod wale'.

About Lorraine

Lorraine is a co-founder of Hedges & Hurdles a company specialising in country skills and crafts. Skilled at making handmade crafts from wood she coppices and harvests locally and combines these skill with her experience and ability to deliver personable, varied and interesting workshops and training courses for all.

Access: This course is not suitable for those with severe arthritis in their hands.

Please bring a pair of sharp secateurs. All other equipment/materials supplied. 

The workshop will take place in our beautifully converted barn. 

Tea/coffee provided. Please bring your own packed lunch or buy a light bite from our pop-up café.
