Weddings & Celebrations

The perfect setting for a country house wedding

wedding couple through trees

We still have some availability for 2022: including Saturday 13th August, Saturday 3rd September, Saturday 8th October, Saturday 5th November and Saturday 3rd December

Our philosophy is that every event hosted here should be something very special: personal and exquisite.

West Horsley Place’s romantic and fragile beauty, almost untouched by the last century, makes it a unique location for your celebration. As guests, you will have exclusive use of the house and/or garden on the day. Within 30 miles of London, secluded yet easy to reach, the estate offers a range of stunning settings.

Join us and be part of the evolving story of West Horsley Place. Income from weddings and events is vital to help preserve West Horsley Place and enable us to realise our vision to bring the house and whole estate back to life, and to improve people's wellbeing through art, culture, heritage & nature.

“We are so glad that we found West Horsley Place as it gave us the perfect atmosphere and setting - we loved all the little spaces and the unique and beautiful exterior and interior”

Our recent work to conserve and maintain the house means we have a range of wonderfully evocative settings for a special event, whether it's a wedding, a special family party, a corporate event or the moment to celebrate a life.

The principle reception rooms on the ground floor of the manor house have been beautifully refurbished, providing elegant, but intimate spaces. We have new heating and lighting, luxurious new bathrooms and a special bride's dressing room.

We have also completed a stunning new venue with a seating capacity of 150 in the newly restored 18th-century barn at Place Farm.

Find out about Cate's wedding

Designer and writer Cate St. Hill created a beautiful blog about her wedding day at West Horsley Place.

“We had visited a number of venues in the area but none had really connected with us until we came across this magical manor house.”

Read Cate's blog here and see how the house and gardens were the backdrop to Cate and Olivier's special reception (photography: Tania Gault).

Licenced for ceremonies

We are delighted to host wedding receptions and now have a licence for marriages and civil partnerships. We host a limited number of weddings every year, usually on Saturdays, but we sometimes have weekday availability.

Celebrations of all types

In its time, West Horsley Place has seen all kinds of gatherings, including a royal lunch for Henry VIII and a theatrical masque for Elizabeth I. Now we are delighted to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions, but we also have space for a special family celebration; a chance to remember someone, after or in place of a funeral; or even a unusual setting for a corporate day.
