Summer time offers an amazing plethora of different abundant medicinal and tasty plants. Join medical Herbalist, Mycotherapist and Forest school enthusiast Janine Gerhardt MNIMH on fun & fact packed day exploring the beautiful grounds of West Horsely place. In the morning venture on a leisurely wild food and Herb walk: Taste, smell, feel and get to know our local plants, their historic and current uses Learn how to create simple home herbal remedies, how to use our wild foods for medicines, foods, cosmetics plus general wellbeing & joy Learn when and how to forage responsibly Taste some pre-prepared herbal or wild food goodies For lunch, together we will gather in the beautiful barn to prepare & enjoy together: A wild salad A vegan lunch with focus on edible flowers Rose petal dessert In the afternoon we will prepare a variety of herbal remedies inspired by wild summer flowers, possibly including: A herbal salt and/or herbal floral spice blend Capture the essence of summer in your own personalised medicinal blend Mugwort digestive & smudge stick An adaptogenic (resilience enhancing) herbal blend An infused herbal oil Janine Gerhardt Janine has been a practising medical Herbalist and Wild Food Explorer since 2008, who would rather climb a tree than sit in front of a computer screen. In 2012 Janine completed a postgraduate diploma in Ecology and Conservation and in 2019 she became a Forest Bathing Guide, now working for Kew Gardens and other wonderful locations, helping people enhance their health and wellbeing through exploring nature. Reconnecting people with nature and each other has been her main inspiration and these are the fundamental reasons behind her Herb Walks, Workshops and Wild Food Adventures. She loves working with people from all walks of life and of all age groups, with the aim of enhancing health & wellbeing through nature engagement in many shapes and forms and strives to nourish self-reliance and self-empowerment.
