General Information

West Horsley Place is closed to the public until April, our car park is not available to the public during this period. The estate is still accessible on foot. Check our What's On section to book for events from April. We look forward to welcoming you in the spring. 

HOW TO VISIT WEST HORSLEY PLACE

West Horsley Place is not open to general visitors on a daily basis. You can visit us from April on an Open Day, a 'Nooks and Crannies' guided tour, or for one of our special events and activities. Please book for all these in advance. You can find these in the What's On Menu.

We want everyone to feel welcome here. If we can improve this information please let us know. 

You do not need to book to visit our pop-up café, which is open Wednesday to Sunday each week from April-October from 10am- 4pm.

By train:

Horsley station is a mile away with frequent trains from Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction (45 mins) and Guildford (14 mins). Woking station is 8 miles away (London 25 mins; 8 trains/hour).

On foot: 

We are a 20 minute walk (1 mile) from Horsley Train Station. Please find a walking map HERE. It is a lovely walk through the estate, but you will need suitable footwear. 

By Bus:

The 479 Guildford- Bookham- Leatherhead- Epsom service operates roughly hourly. The nearest stop is East Horsley, Duke of Wellington- a 7-minute walk. Find the bus timetable HERE. 

By Car:

West Horsley Place is off the A246 between Guildford and Leatherhead. We are 10 minutes' drive from the A3/M25 intersection. Leave the A3 at junction 10. 

Arrival, What to Expect

On foot: If walking from Horsley Station the bridleway will bring you into our car park. From there, please follow the signs to Place Farm Barn and the Manor House. 

By bus: From the Duke of Wellington bus stop, walk east (away from the pub, Horsley Towers and garage) towards St. Mary's Church and Squires Garden Centre. The entrance to West Horsley Place is on the right before you reach St. Mary's Church. Walk down the farm drive to reach Place Farm Barn, the estate footpaths and the Manor House,. 

By car: you will enter via our farm drive, marked by two brown West Horsley Place signs, please be aware that the farm drive is two-way. Please follow signs to our car park. Once parked and on foot, please follow signage to Place Farm and the Manor House.

What it Costs

At West Horsley Place we are committed to being as accessible as possible. This means we make all of our ticket prices as affordable as we can. Open day tickets cost £10 and are free for 16s and under. Nooks & Crannies tours cost £20. Our visual arts events are usually free. 

Parking is free. 

Our café sells teas, coffees and light refreshments ranging from £2.50 to £3.50. Open April-October.

The train from London to Horsley costs £12 off peak. The train from Guildford to Horsley costs £5.10 off peak and the bus is £6.00 return. A taxi from the station will cost around £12. 

FAQs

The estate: People are very welcome to walk through the estate on public footpaths

Can I bring my dog? Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the estate and at our pop-up café, but only assistance dogs are welcome in the buildings and walled gardens. 

Booking

We do not issue tickets. Just give your booking name or email booking confirmation on arrival.

Buggies, Bikes & Young Families

We do not have a specific buggy parking area, but ask one of our team if you would like to leave your buggy somewhere during your visit. Buggies are welcome in Place Farm Barn and the ground floor of the Manor House. 

There is a cycle rack in our car park. 

We hope to welcome more young families to West Horsley Place and are seeking funding for play equipment. We have a wonderful garden trail and barn trail activity for children aged 6 and up. 

There are baby-changing facilities in the Manor House and Place Farm Barn. 

Covid-19

The health and safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers remains our top priority. We ask that everyone visiting West Horsley Place please familiarise themselves with the latest government advice. We will follow any Covid guidelines in place at the time of your visit.
