Leaving a gift in your Will

At the heart of the vision for West Horsley Place is a wish to protect and breathe new life into this extraordinary estate through the creation of a vibrant centre for heritage, performing and visual arts and crafts, which is open to all - creating a lasting legacy for future generations.

You can become a part of this legacy by leaving a gift to the West Horsley Place Trust in your Will.

How to leave a gift in your Will

If you would like to leave a gift in your Will to preserve West Horsley Place for future generations, we recommend you consult a solicitor who can advise on wording to ensure that your wishes are carried out.

All you have to do is add a specific amount or a percentage of what you are worth (it could be just 1% to ensure those you care about are protected).  Every gift - large or small - will help us to restore West Horsley Place, open it to the community and to care for this magnificent part of England's heritage for generations to come.

Gifts that are free from restrictions are particularly helpful as they can be put towards West Horsley Place’s most urgent projects. If you would like your gift to be used for a specific purpose, you can specify this in your Will. If this is something you are interested in doing, please get in touch.

If you would like to leave an object or a collection to West Horsley Place, please let us know so that together we can agree the best way to look after your gift. While we are grateful for gifts of any kind, we cannot promise to find a home for every object but we may be able to suggest a solution to ensure that your wishes will be carried out.

You will need to give your solicitor the charity’s registered name, address and charity number:
The West Horsley Place Trust, West Horsley Place, Epsom Road, West Horsley KT24 6AN
Registered charity number 1164840 (England and Wales).

Our Promise to You

  • We will never put pressure on you to leave a gift in your Will – it is your decision.
  • We will never ask you the size or type of gift if you decide to support our work in this way.
  • We absolutely recognise that your loved ones come first in your Will.
  • You never have to tell us your intentions – we respect your right to privacy.
  • We understand that your circumstances may change and there might be a time when you take us out of your Will.
  • We promise to use your gift wisely and prudently.
  • If you want your gift to be used in a special way, we will always try to honour your wishes. We are happy to talk to you before you write or amend your Will to ensure your wishes can be met.
  • We will treat your family and executors with integrity and kindness.
  • If you do wish to let us know your intentions, we will treat your information with the strictest confidence and will only contact you if you have given us permission to do so.
