This summer, new for 2024, West Horsley Place are delighted to be hosting a very special event.

Full of historical frolics, family fun and plenty of food, a new festival is coming to the manor house and grounds on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July.

About the event

In 1533 Henry & Gertrude Courtenay invited King Henry VIII for a visit to West Horsley Place. This visit is exceptionally well-documented and with help from our partners Historic Royal Palaces, University of Exeter and Powderham Castle we are recreating it as a unique multi-sensory experience. From tasting the King's feast and trying out Tudor dancing to watching falconry and jousting displays it will be a day out to remember.
