West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed mediaeval manor house and estate of great beauty and historic significance. Left almost untouched for a century, West Horsley Place has romantic and fragile beauty. As our guests, you will have exclusive use of the manor house and/or garden for your event. Within 30 miles of London, West Horsley Place offers a number of stunning options for wedding receptions, events and celebrations. 

Our formal reception rooms have been sensitively refurbished, with new heating and lighting as well as luxurious new lavatories. The Duchess' bedroom has become an elegant bridal changing room with views over the garden.

The Stone Hall

The Stone Hall, named for its flagstones made from York stone, is where King Henry VIII had a 35-course banquet when visiting West Horsley Place in 1536. Classical in style, the Stone Hall has a light and elegant atmosphere and is available for private events including receptions and seated dinners, catering for up to 100 guests.

The Drawing Room

The Drawing Room’s original 18th century red silk wall hangings create an intimate and warm atmosphere. The Drawing Room is available for private events including receptions and seated dinners, catering for up to 60 guests.


The Morning Room

With views across the home paddock, parquet flooring and hung with historic paintings the Morning Room offers a sophisticated and stylish venue for private events including receptions and seated dinners, catering for up to 60 guests.

Licensed for wedding ceremonies of up to 65 guests.


The Library

West Horsley Place is home to the remarkable Crewe Book Collection (much of which has now been donated to Trinity College, Cambridge) which forms our atmospheric library. Floor to ceiling bookcases, antique furniture and mediaeval wall arches (complete with witches’ marks) have made this room a favourite with filmmakers. Available for private events including receptions and seated dinners, catering for up to 40 guests.


Lady Crewe’s Bedroom

The beautiful Venetian window in Lady Crewe’s bedroom frames a view of acres of rolling meadow, its pale walls, ornate cornicing and intricately carved fireplace give it a delicate feminine character. Available for private events including receptions and seated dinners, catering for up to 50 guests.


The Walled Garden

Our 5 acres of formal walled gardens were laid out in 1710 and feature the rare and beautiful crinkle-crankle (or serpentine) wall, as well as a charming and spacious walled orchard. The gardens offer a variety of possible locations for marquees of any size.
