Part of Hosting Henry VIII Week, join us to discover more about our most famous monarch and his connection to West Horsly Place.

Henry VIII clearly liked West Horsley as it provided excellent hunting and was not far from his established residences at Woking and Guildford. Indeed, it became one of several manors that were added to the crown portfolio during the last decade of his reign and which he expanded so as to better accommodate his entourage. It is, however, only now that historians are becoming aware of it as one of his progress venues - one which he may have visited with several of his queens. This talk will delve into Henry VIII's interest in West Horsley and set it in the wider context of his royal progresses.
